LEUNG Shui-king Sharon
Sharon teaches social work at Hong Kong Baptist University. She first encountered narrative practice when Michael White gave an inspiring workshop in 2001 in Hong Kong. She was very much drawn to the belief that people are the experts in their own lives and the way in which narrative practice separates people from their problems with great respect. Sharon completed the International Diploma in narrative therapy at Dulwich Centre, Australia in 2008, and has been involved in running several collaborative narrative research and projects with service users, practitioners and NGOs in Hong Kong. Sharon has practised narrative ideas in the areas of substance misuse and rehabilitation in outreaching and prison settings, as well as in the areas of mental health, children and families with special educational needs, and young people engaged in Internet gaming.
